Jetpack is one of the most popular WordPress plugins, with over 4 million active installations. Its goal is to offer an all-in-one solution for the most important website features most site owners look for, such as analytics, security, SEO, social media, and more.
However, Jetpack is not the best solution for every site. While it does give site owners a whole lot of convenient features in one package, you might find that it installs a lot that you don’t actually need, is resource-intensive and slows down your site, or gets too expensive once you add up all the paid add-on modules you want for your site.
If you’re looking for more flexibility and more control over your toolkit, we’ve got the best Jetpack alternatives for WordPress here in one list.
Popular Jetpack Features
Jetpack offers a wide range of features and modules that help WordPress users enhance their sites. Some of the most widely used Jetpack features include:
- Stats – Jetpack Stats provides insights into WordPress website traffic and visitor behavior.

- Image Galleries and Media – Jetpack has Gutenberg blocks for image galleries, carousels, slideshows, and tiled galleries. They also offer their VaultPress plugin for publishing videos on your site.
- eCommerce – Jetpack offers a Gutenberg block that allows you to insert payment buttons in your content.
- Site Monetization – Jetpack allows you to easily add advertising, sell products, and accept payments.
- Performance Optimization – Jetpack has image CDN and lazy loading features to speed up sites.
- Social Media – Use Jetpack Social to automatically share to your social networks from your site, or use its Gutenberg blocks to add social sharing buttons, embed various social feeds, and more.
- Search – Use the Jetpack Search module to improve your site’s WordPress search capabilities.
While some basic Jetpack features are free, others require a paid add-on plugin to use.

So the biggest feature I use for my clients is posting TO social media from WP posts. Jetpack has recently lost the ability to post to pages I manage for clients, so its usefulness has left me searching for new alternatives. The only one I’ve found is Blog2social, but it is paid (Jetpack used to allow posting up to 30 posts per month, but it is hard to access this feature for new users, if at all). Are there any others you could recommend with this feature?
Hey Jefferis – That’s a tough one to find for free! You may be able to set them all up with the free version of Buffer, then use this plugin to automatically send to Buffer: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-to-buffer/. If it’s something you decide makes sense to pay for, Uncanny Automator would make it really simple.
thanks. As a developer with multiple clients, Uncanny pro with $149 for one site per year is a non starter. Will check out the free version. I do prefer a plugin I buy once and use on many sites…. Will check out Buffer as well. Thanks. BTW, Blog2Social seems to be a bit cheaper than Uncanny and is good for free, but you cannot schedule posts without a pro version.
