MonsterInsights was founded by Syed Balkhi, the creator of WPBeginner.com in 2016. Surprised by how difficult it was to properly set up analytics, he got the idea to build MonsterInsights. Originally known as Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast, we’ve since grown to be the most popular WordPress analytics plugin.
